This project is an element of the overall enhancement of the eastern span reconstruction of the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. Upgrading included the recladding of the canopy structure, replacing the crash cushions, removing existing pump station building, constructing a new pump station building over existing concrete slab, Stairway No. 7 removal, and painting the toll booths concrete pillars, bus shelter, pump station building inside wall and floor, and steel clad columns. The new pump station building is now the footprint of the existing building located at the I-80 median.
